Homeworlders

This piece took far longer than it should have, but I was trying to teach myself how to "paint" rather than "draw"; i.e., seeing and creating objects in terms of shape and light rather than outlines filled in with color. I'm not there yet, but it turned out way better than I expected when I started.

McFarlane military figures were used as reference poses along with various pictures of weaponry, vests, etc.

This pictures comes with a story: A team of Delta Force operators went through a pan-galactic 'Fargate' (yes, it had a mohawk and a wheelchair, noone's getting sued here! *grin* ) in order to stop an impending alien invasion of Earth. I ran this as a tabletop RPG campaign, and this picture is for my players, who have courageously put up with the crap I throw at them biweekly.
